Boise Hawks fall again to Salem-Keizer Volcanoes
Stranding six runners and hitting 1-of-11 with runners in the scoring position, the Boise Hawks could not generate runs in a 3-2 loss to the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes on Wednesday at Memorial Stadium.
The Volancoes (4-2) took a 3-0 lead into the sixth inning, but the Hawks (2-4) cut into the lead on a Daniel Suero single that scored Garrett Hampson, who was 3-for-4 in the loss. Wesley Jones drove in Bobby Stahel on a fielders choice in the bottom of the ninth, moving Anthony Brito to third with one out. However, Eric Toole and Campbell Wear struck out swinging to end the game.
Boise starter Michael Zimmerman yielded three runs, one earned, in five innings.
