Carvalho retains middleweight title at Bellator 155 in Boise

Rafael Carvalho (13-1) beat Melvin Manhoef (30-13-1) by split decision in a middleweight championship bout at Bellator 155 on Friday at CenturyLink Arena.

All three judges scored the five-round fight 28-27, with Carvalho winning on two scorecards.

Additional main card winners were Pat Curran by unanimous decision over Georgi Karakh, Alexis Dufresne over Marloes Coenen by first-round submission, and Chase Gormley over Joey Beltran by split decision in a heavyweight fight. Dan Charles and Augusto Sukai fought to a heavyweight draw. Winners on the preliminary card were Scott Thometz, Veta Arteaga, Jesse Brock, Joe Hamilton, Casey Johnson, Vince Morales, Will Noland and Marcin Held.
