Treasure Valley motor sports calendar: Friday, May 20

Larry Hull III set a qualifying record for the NASCAR Whelen All American Series Modifieds with his 14.213-second lap around the quarter-mile paved oval May 14 at Meridian Speedway. Later that night, Hull won the first of two main-event races at the track and his second of the season. The NWAAS Modifieds compete again Saturday at the speedway.

What: Summer series for Outlaw Karts, Flat Track Bikes and Quads

When: Gates open at 3:30 p.m., racing starts at 6 p.m.

Admission: $10 adults and $5 for children ages 6-12, seniors and members. Children 5 and younger are free

SATURDAY

What: Military Appreciation Night featuring Tri-Track Project Filter Pro-4 Challenge, NWAAS Modifieds, Non-Winged Sprints, Super Stocks, Street Stocks, Jr. Stingers and Hornets

When: Gates open at 4 p.m., qualifying begins at 5 p.m. and racing starts at 6:30 p.m.

Admission: $10.50 adults, $8 seniors, $6.50 children ages 7-11 and free for children 6 and younger. Family passes (two adults and up to four children ages 7-11) are $30

FIREBIRD RACEWAY (DRAG RACING)

SATURDAY

What: The 30th annual Interstate Batteries Battle of the Brands featuring Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman, Sled/Bike, Junior Dragster and a number of categories for the “Chevy” and “Ford” brands. A King of the Hill runoff will take place to decide bragging rights between the Detroit brands

When: Gates open at 9 a.m., and racing starts at 2 p.m.

SUNDAY

What: Bronco Motors Hot Truck Nationals featuring Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman, Sled/Bike, Nostaliga, Junior Dragster and Truck classes, including Pro Truck, Street Truck and Diesel Truck

When: Gates open at 9 a.m., and racing starts at 2 p.m.

Admission (each day): $12 adults, $3 children ages 6-12 and free for children 5 and younger

Location: Five miles north of Highway 44 on Highway 16, about 10 minutes northwest of Eagle
