Idaho colleges: Idaho men’s golf tied for lead at NCAA regional
The Vandals fired a team score of 5-under 283 and share the lead with 16th-ranked Florida after the opening day of the NCAA Kohler Regional at The Meadow Valleys course at Blackwolf Run. No. 10 Florida State is one stroke back at 284, followed by Kent State (288) and No. 4 Illinois (289). Junior Ryan Porch and sophomore Daniel Sutton led Idaho and are among four leaders tied at 3-under 69. Sophomore Ian Kim shot an even-par 72 and is tied for 16th, while freshman Jake Scarrow is tied for 27th at 1-over 73. Senior Rylee Iacolucci is tied for 62nd with a 4-over 76. The top four teams after the next 36 holes advance to the NCAA Championships on May 27-June 1 at the Eugene (Ore.) Country Club.
BOISE STATE TRACK AND FIELD: Twelve Broncos made the All-Mountain West team announced Monday. They are Dusty Fisher (400 meters, 4x100 relay), Fernando Martinez (400 hurdles, 4x100 relay), Rex Stanley (4x100 relay), Mountain View High graduate Bryce Kirby (4x100 relay), David Elliott (1,500, 5,000), Yusuke Uchikoshi (5,000), Pocatello High graduate Elijah Armstrong (10,000) and Camden Stoddard (pole vault) on the men’s side. The women are Minttu Hukka (3,000 steeplechase), Brenna Peloquin (5,000), Lakeland High graduate Jordan Ward (high jump) and Courtney Hutchinson (shot put).
BSU MEN’S TENNIS: The Broncos signed Harvey Schackleton (Hertfordshire, England) and Morgan Stone (transfer from Santa Clara).
IDAHO STATE MEN’S BASKETBALL: The Bengals added guard Lyle Sutton (Madison High) to their roster.
