The 2015 Famous Idaho Potato Bowl was the only football game televised in its time slot, but that still did not catch many eyes, nationally or locally. This year’s edition will be a little more easy for fans to watch at home, or at Albertsons Stadium.

In its 20th year of existence, the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl kicks off at 5 p.m. MT on Thursday, Dec. 22. Last year, the game had a 1:30 p.m. kickoff on a Tuesday. The announced attendance was 18,876, third-lowest in the bowl’s history, and had the lowest viewership of any of the 35 bowls on ESPN or ESPN2.

For the fourth straight year, the bowl will pit a Mountain West team against one from the Mid-American Conference. Akron, in its first bowl appearance, won last December’s game over Utah State.

Famous Idaho Potato Bowl tickets will go on sale to the general public in September.

Dates and times were also set for these other Mountain West-affiliated bowls:

New Mexico Bowl: noon MT Saturday, Dec. 17

Las Vegas Bowl: 1:30 p.m. MT Saturday, Dec. 17

Poinsettia Bowl: 7 p.m. MT Wednesday, Dec. 21

Hawaii Bowl: 6 p.m. MT Saturday, Dec. 24

(Arizona Bowl date and time TBA)
