Idaho colleges roundup: Club baseball regional coming to Boise

The National Club Baseball Association chose Memorial Stadium as its host venue for the 2016 Northern Pacific Regional Tournament.

The event runs May 13-15 and will feature four teams drawn from the Northern Pacific’s west, north and south conferences.

Idaho, Idaho State and Boise State all feature club teams.

The winner advances to the national championship in Paducah, Ky.

BOISE STATE WOMEN’S GOLF: The Broncos are eighth (24-over 312) after the first day at the Mountain West Championship at the Dinah Shore course at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif. The tournament continues through Wednesday.

BIG SKY WOMEN’S GOLF: Idaho (295) is five shots behind defending champion Northern Arizona (290) after the first day of the tournament at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nev. Idaho State is last at 331. The tournament continues through Wednesday.

COLLEGE OF IDAHO WOMEN’S GOLF: The Coyotes sit in third place with a 59-over 347 after the first day of the Cascade Conference Championship at Eagle Point Golf Club in Oregon. C of I’s Lexi Oropeza (Caldwell High) is tied for second at 10-over 82. The tournament concludes Tuesday.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE GOLF: The Crusader men are fourth at 12-over 580 and the women third at 37-over 321 heading into the final day of the GNAC Championships at Coeur d’Alene Resort.
