Report: Charges against Picabo Street dropped

Prosecutors are dismissing domestic violence and assault charges against former Idaho Olympic gold-medal skier Picabo Street, the Salt Lake Tribune reported Thursday.

Street, 44, is accused of throwing her 76-year-old father down stairs and locking him in a basement during a Dec. 23 fight at her home near Park City. She was charged with one count of assault and three counts of domestic violence in the presence of a child.

In a motion filed Thursday, Deputy Summit County Attorney Ivy Telles said “this case would be more appropriately handled in a civil or administrative forum by Utah’s Adult and Aging Services Division.”
