Letter to the sports editor: Sunday, March 13

High school basketball

We recently enjoyed a great Idaho high school state basketball playoff. There were many heart-stopping moments, displays of athleticism and last-second wins.

But, for those who missed it, in the Preston vs. Burley game, there was magic as both pep bands rocked the gym, playing the same song simultaneously, their conductors in perfect time, their band members in perfect pitch.

As the song ended, both band leaders acknowledged the other and opposing band members cheered.

Kudos to both Burley and Preston pep bands for the most remarkable display of good sportsmanship of the tournament.
