Idaho Steelheads shut out Rush, open homestand Friday

Philippe Desrosiers stopped 22 shots on goal for his first professional shutout, and Idaho cruised to a 3-0 ECHL hockey victory over Rapid City on Saturday night.

It was Idaho’s fifth shutout of the season, and Desrosiers’ 11th victory. He is unbeaten in his past 10 starts for Idaho, going 8-0-2 over that stretch.

Radoslac Illo, Rob Linsmayer and Carson McMillan all scored for the Steelheads (34-21-7), who host the Rush for two games next Friday and Saturday at CenturyLink Arena to start a five-game homestand.

Idaho remains four points ahead of the Utah Grizzlies for the top spot in the West Division.
