Idaho Steelheads beat Alaska, earn fourth straight victory at home

Rob Linsmayer and Joe Basaraba scored third-period goals, and Idaho held off Alaska 2-1 in an ECHL hockey game Saturday night at CenturyLink Arena to complete a three-game series sweep.

Basaraba put the game away with 7 minutes, 12 seconds left, and the Steelheads (33-20-7) weathered an Aces goal with 3:07 remaining to finish their five-game homestand 4-0-1 and earn a point in their eighth straight game. Philippe Desrosiers stopped 26 shots.

Idaho visits Rapid City (23-28-6) for two games starting Friday, then hosts the Rush on March 18-19.
