Idaho Steelheads beat Utah, split series at home
Damian Cross scored his first professional goal, and Branden Komm made 38 saves as Idaho defeated Utah 4-1 in an ECHL hockey game Saturday night at CenturyLink Arena.
Carson McMillan, Jake Fallon and Kyle Jean also scored for the Steelheads (30-20-7), who lead the Grizzlies (30-21-4) by three points in the West Division standings.
Idaho scored twice in the first 6 minutes, 34 seconds, then took a 3-0 lead on Fallon’s goal 12:01 into the second period. Jean added an empty-netter with 46 seconds left.
The Steelheads continue their homestand with three games against Alaska, starting at 7:10 p.m. Wednesday.
