Idaho Steelheads lose top goalie Campbell
Jack Campbell, who has won 19-of-27 games with Idaho over the past two seasons, was sent to the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League by the NHL’s Dallas Stars, the clubs announced Wednesday.
Idaho and Texas are affiliates of Dallas, which selected Campbell in the first round of the 2010 NHL Draft. Campbell, 24, was 14-5-1 in 20 starts with Idaho this season. He led the ECHL with a 1.68 goals-against average, a .944 save percentage and was tied for the lead with four shutouts.
Idaho has one goalie on its roster, Branden Komm (8-3), going into a homestand that starts Friday and features five games in nine days.
