TULSA, Okla.

Rob Linsmayer broke a tie with 1 minute, 3 seconds remaining, and Idaho (29-20-5) defeated the host Tulsa Oilers 5-3 in an ECHL hockey game Tuesday night to retake the West Division lead. Linsmayer also set up Kyle Jean’s empty-netter 25 seconds later for the final margin.

Joe Basaraba and Andrew Carroll put the Steelheads ahead 2-0 in the first period, then captain Carson McMillan scored on a power play at 10:52 of the third. Zach Kamrass had two assists, and Jack Campbell made 30 saves for the visitors, who have 64 points in the standings to Utah’s 62.

The Steelheads will host the Grizzlies at 7:10 p.m. Friday at CenturyLink Arena in Boise, the first of five home games in nine days.
