Idaho Steelheads blow lead, but beat Wichita in overtime

Carson McMillan scored 3 minutes, 55 seconds into overtime to complete his second hat trick of the season, and Idaho rebounded to defeat the Wichita Thunder 5-4 in an ECHL hockey game Sunday.

The Steelheads (28-20-6) scored three times in the first 3:39 of the game and led 4-1 after Kyle Jean’s goal 19 seconds into the second period. But Wichita (11-31-11) rallied with three third-period goals to force the extra time.

Andre Bouvet-Morrissette also scored for Idaho, and Jake Rutt, Jake Fallon and Joe Basaraba had two assists apiece. Branden Komm had 39 saves.
