Baseball/Softball

Idaho Senior Softball Association: Taking reservations for its men’s wooden bat league. Anyone born before 1957 (60 and over) is eligible; no one will be turned away. All skill levels welcome. Play in the Monday night or Wednesday night league or both. League play begins April 18. Cost is $40 per league. Tuesday morning league is $20. Deadline for signups is March 25. Running/Walking

Onward Shay! Boise Half and Full Marathon: 7 a.m. Oct. 30 at Payette Brewing Company. Held in honor of Shay Hirsch, wife of George Hirsch. Shay was brought up in Boise, daughter of Pat and Morley Nelson, founder of Boise’s World Center for Birds of Prey. Early registration for the marathon is $100; half is $65. Go to onwardshay.com.

Soccer

Upward Soccer: League for grades K-6. Practice begins March 7. Games start April 2 and run through May 21. Player evaluations from 3 to 7 p.m. Jan. 30 at Peregrine Elementary; and 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 2 and 4 at Tree City Church of the Nazarene. Cost is $95 by Jan. 22, $105 after. Volleyball

Boise Parks and Recreation adult leagues: Register from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Jan. 19-29 at the city rec office, 110 Scout Lane. Power, competitive and recreational leagues available. Teams play one night per week Monday-Thursday starting Feb. 8 and continue through April at Fort Boise Community Center and Boise area schools. Fees are $252 per team plus a $25 USSSA team sanction fee (no USSSA fee for teams that played fall men’s and women’s volleyball), and $14 per non-resident player. Call 608-7650.
