Idaho Steelheads fall to Americans in shootout

Idaho erased a two-goal, first-period deficit with two goals of its own, but the Steelheads fell 2-2 (3-2) in a shootout in ECHL hockey action Saturday night at CenturyLink Arena. Idaho outshot Allen 33-15, but the Steelheads converted only 1-of-9 power-play opportunities. Jefferson Dahl and Rob Linsmayer got the goals for Idaho. The Steelheads return to action after Christmas when they host the Utah Grizzlies on Saturday.
