Stampede come up short to Texas in Jones’ debut

Tyus Jones shined in his Idaho and NBA D-League debut, but it wasn’t enough as the Stampede fell to the Texas Legends 102-96 at CenturyLink Arena. The former Duke standout led all scorers with 27 points, adding eight assists and six rebounds. Brandon Fields scored 13 to go with 11 assists, while Jeff Ayres added 15 points and 10 rebounds. Tu Holloway led Texas with 22 points. Five other Legends scored in double figures. Texas did most of its damage at the free-throw line, converting 21-of-25 attempts.
