Steelheads halt losing streak with win in Colorado

Brandon Magee scored in overtime Wednesday night to give Idaho a 2-1 ECHL hockey victory over the Eagles — the Steelheads’ first win in seven games. Maxime Lagace had 29 saves in a game that was scoreless until the third period.

Colton Beck scored in regulation for Idaho (5-7-3) to open the scoring. It was Beck’s seventh of the season and has him tied for second in the league scoring race with 17 points, one back of Florida’s Matt Marquardt. Rob Linsmayer recorded Idaho’s assist and now has 13 points in the past 10 games.

Prior to the game, Idaho added defenseman Dave Pszenyczny to the roster. The 30-year-old has played 522 games in nine seasons in the CHL ECHL and AHL.
