Idaho Stampede 2015-16 players to watch
Brandon Fields
The 6-foot-4 guard played four seasons at Nevada between 2006 and 2010. He played in 15 games with the Stampede last season, starting 10 and averaging 15.0 points per game. Fields had 28 points, eight rebounds and five assists in Idaho’s win at Rio Grande Valley on Saturday night.
J.J. O’Brien
The 6-7 forward is a rookie out of San Diego State, where he averaged 10.3 points and 5.2 rebounds as a senior. A heady player with defensive upside, O’Brien earned a partially guaranteed contract with the Utah Jazz prior to the season. He scored 12 points in Idaho’s opener Friday.
Travis Releford
The 6-6 shooting guard played four seasons at Kansas, where he finished 10th all-time in games played (138). Releford, who was selected by Idaho in the third round of this year’s D-League Draft, played the past two seasons in Belgium and Canada. He had 11 points, three rebounds and two assists in Saturday’s victory.
EJ Singler
The 6-6 forward out of Oregon played in 22 games with Idaho two seasons ago, averaging 14.1 points and 4.7 rebounds. Singler, who spent the past season playing in Estonia, tallied 20 points and five rebounds in Idaho’s opener Friday.
