College of Idaho volleyball to host NAIA tournament opener

Fresh off its fourth consecutive Cascade Conference title, the College of Idaho volleyball team hosts Xavier (19-7), of New Orleans, at 2 p.m. Saturday in the opening round of the NAIA Championships at the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.

The Coyotes (21-10) host one of 12 opening-round matches for a record seventh time — and the sixth straight year.

C of I is 5-1 in its previous opening-round matches, including a five-set victory last season against Cal State San Marcos.

Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students/seniors. Fans with tickets to Saturday night’s C of I men’s basketball game against Metro State are admitted free.

The winner of each opening round advances to the NAIA Championships in Sioux City, Iowa.
