Dianna Russini's Husband Makes Public Move Amid Her Scandal
The husband of NFL reporter Dianna Russini isn't going into hiding amid her scandal.
Russini, the former NFL insider at The Athletic, publicly resigned from her position earlier this month, after photos leaked showing her at an adults-only, private resort with Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel.
The NFL insider initially defended the photos, saying that she and Vrabel were there with many other friends. However, she ultimately stepped down. And, since then, more photos have leaked through Page Six and TMZ Sports.
Vrabel even publicly apologized for his behavior.
"I've had some difficult conversations with people that I care about, with my family, the organization, the coaches, the players. Those have been positive and productive," the New England Patriots coach told reporters this week.
"We believe that in order to be successful on and off the field you have to make good decisions. That includes me, that starts we me. We never want our actions to negatively affect the team. We never want to be the cause of a distraction."
Amid the scandal, Russini made a move on social media. She chose to back away from the spotlight. Russini publicly deleted her X account, formerly Twitter, which had a massive following.
Her account is no longer active online.
"Over a career spanning more than fifteen years in sports journalism - at NBC, ESPN, and The Athletic - I have built a body of work I am proud of. I have broken stories, earned the trust of sources across the league, and been guided by the highest standards of professional conduct. That record speaks for itself," she said in a statement, standing by her behavior.
"I remain grateful to The Athletic and for the extraordinary colleagues with whom I have worked there, for the platform it provided, and for the support you showed me during this difficult time. I wish you nothing but continued success."
Russini's husband, meanwhile, is not deleting anything
Russini's husband, Shake Shack executive Kevin Goldschmidt, is choosing to stay in the public eye.
While others in his situation might delete his public accounts, he's choosing to stay public on LinkedIn, among other things.
Russini and her husband have been together for more than six years. They officially tied the knot, getting married on September 26, 2020.
They have two children together - both boys.
Russini was previously asked in 2023 about her decision to get married. Her husband, Kevin, is a die-hard Eagles fan. Russini grew up in New Jersey.
"He had a really big wallet," she said.
Russini often joked about her marriage, speaking publicly about her "average" husband, but now, all of her past comments are being looked over and scrutinized.
Meanwhile, her husband is continuing to prioritize his career amid the scandal. It's obviously very unfortunate that he has to deal with this, but he appears to be prioritizing the right kind of things.
