AC Boise soccer is the hottest ticket in town. Here’s how you can score a seat

Athletic Club Boise made a statement with its home debut, packing 7,211 fans into its new stadium at Expo Idaho in Garden City to set a USL League One regular-season attendance record.

Professional soccer remains anything but a guaranteed draw in the United States. Yet Idaho’s third-division club is quickly taking its place among a small slice of rabid fan bases outside the MLS.

“For the level we’re at, it’s not the level we’re at,” Boise coach Nate Miller said. “It’s a higher level, which I think is the whole point of this club — to not be at this level.

“For this level, it’s the standard. It’s the best one. And I think it’s also a really, really good (USL) Championship level, too.”

Only eight of 25 USL Championship clubs averaged more than 7,000 fans last season. And just one USL League One rival — Maine’s Portland Hearts of Pine — drew more than 4,500 fans in 2025.

That gives Idahoans plenty to pound their chest about. But it also presents a challenge for diehards and bandwagon fans alike: How do you get a ticket to see this team?

GET ON THE EMAIL LIST

After selling 6,000 regular-season tickets (another record), AC Boise has approximately 500 single-game tickets available for each of its 17 remaining home games. That means competition for tickets remains stiff.

Only a handful of scattered seats remain for Saturday’s home match against Westchester (New York) and the May 2 date against the Chattanooga (Tennessee) Red Wolves.

Looking for games later in the season? Stay patient. The club will release more single-game tickets as matches approach to combat scalpers.

“I saw what home opener seats were going for,” AC Boise CEO Brad Stith said. “You appreciate that kind of fandom. But at the same time, you had $30 seats going for $300.”

Fans can sign up for the team’s email newsletter to learn when more tickets go on sale. The form to join the newsletter sits at the bottom of every page on the team’s website.

Keep a close eye on your inbox, though. It took only 3 minutes for the club to sell out the home opener’s single-game seats. And it took just an hour before a smattering of single seats remained for Saturday’s match and the May 2 game.

STAND IN LINE

Strike out online? Try your luck at grabbing one of the 200 $10 tickets reserved for game-day sales.

The family zone tickets go on sale in person at the stadium at 2 p.m., but get there early. The club sold out these tickets in just 20 minutes ahead of the home opener.

Sales are limited to four tickets per person.

TRY THE RESALE MARKET

AC Boise provides season-ticket holders a way to resell unused seats through the club’s website. Find them in a separate fan-to-fan link for each game. Those become available whenever someone with season tickets decides to sell them. So check back often, and expect a markup.

The River Guard, the team’s supporters group, also started a Facebook group titled “AC Boise Tickets: Buy/Sell/Trade.” It caps ticket prices at their face value, providing the best value for fans.

You can also scour secondary websites like StubHub and SeatGeek. But expect to pay a premium there, too.

CONSIDER A 5-GAME PACKAGE, SEASON TICKETS

AC Boise unveiled 200 five-game ticket packages Tuesday afternoon. The packages give fans a chance to lock in future dates instead of rolling the dice with single-game tickets when they become available.

Less than 50 season tickets are also still for sale. They are spread across the supporters’ section ($15 per game), lower-level club seats ($40 to $100 per game) and VIP sideline locations ($150 per game).

ARE MORE SEATS COMING?

The club will add tiered benches to improve sightlines in the beer garden, and it is searching for ways to cram a few extra seats into Expo Idaho this season. But Stith noted that the stadium’s current layout doesn’t come with much space for in-season expansion.

AC Boise’s lease with Ada County requires it to expand to 11,000 seats by 2036. And it will need 15,000 seats if it wants to play its way up to the coming USL Premier Division, the top of the league’s promotion-relegation system slated to start in 2028.

Stith said the site at Expo Idaho has room to expand all the way to 25,000 seats, but the club is taking it slow for now.

“You don’t build churches for Easter, right?” Stith said. “You want to make sure that you’re pragmatic with that growth and that you’ve got a sustainable business model that goes along with it.

“We definitely want to have enough seats to make sure that it reflects what our community’s consistent demand looks like. We also want to be careful because you know that your first-year metrics always look different than every second year that everybody has, except for a handful of teams that are able to keep elevating.”
