Looking for a spark in the Kelly Cup Finals, the Idaho Steelheads made a change in goal.

Unfortunately, the result was the same, but the trouble came on the offensive end.

The Steelheads lost 1-0 to the Florida Everblades on Wednesday at Hertz Arena to fall behind 3-0 in the ECHL’s championship series. Game 4 is at 5:30 p.m. Mountain time Friday in Estero, Florida.

Florida forward Will Calverley scored the game’s only goal on an assist by Blake Winiecki at the 18:14 mark of the second period. Goaltender Cam Johnson made 23 saves in the shutout.

Adam Scheel, who started the first two games of the Kelly Cup Finals for the Steelheads, was replaced in goal in Game 3 by Remi Poirier, who stopped 27 of the 28 shots he faced and kept Florida off the board on all four of its power plays.

The Steelheads had just one power play in the game. They managed just five shots in the second period and did not have double-digit shots in any period.
