Boise Hawks fall in extra innings to Vancouver Canadians

Boise tied the game with two runs in the sixth but got sloppy in the 10th as Vancouver scored four runs and beat the Hawks 7-3 on Friday in Northwest League action at Memorial Stadium.

The extra frame opened with a runner reaching base on an error, and after back-to-back singles, Vancouver’s Kacy Clemens broke the tie with an RBI walk.

Riley Adams followed with a ground ball to Boise shortstop Ryan Metzler, who made the force out at home, but two runs scored as catcher Austin Bernard threw the ball away trying to turn a double play at first. Adams scored on a wild pitch to the next batter.

Sean Bouchard led the Hawks with three hits.

The teams continue their series Saturday.
