Boise Hawks winning streak stopped by Spokane Indians

Starter John Valek had no answers for the Indians’ lineup as Boise fell to Spokane 11-5 on Saturday night in Northwest League action at Memorial Stadium.

Spokane tagged Valek for eight runs and 10 hits in five innings to end the Hawks’ winning streak at three games.

Boise’s lineup struggled for most of the evening, combining for 12 strikeouts and going 1 for 12 with runners in scoring position.

The Hawks did their only damage with the game well out of reach, scoring one in the eighth and four in the ninth.

The two teams face off again Sunday.
