Boise Hawks get second straight win over Eugene Emeralds
Steven Linkous and Ryan Metzler each had two hits, Ethan Westfall got out of a bases-loaded jam in the ninth and Boise beat Eugene 4-1 in Northwest League action at Memorial Stadium on Wednesday night.
Metzler doubled home Linkous to give the Hawks a 2-1 lead in the third, and Boise’s pitching staff didn’t allow another run.
Boise added one run in the sixth and eighth to bolster the lead. Joe Martarano (Boise State) went 1-for-3 before being removed for a pinch runner in the ninth.
