Boise Hawks rally to knock off Eugene Emeralds in home opener

First baseman Connor Hale stole third and scored on a throwing error in the bottom of the ninth, and third baseman Avery Romero hit a walk-off single in the 10th as Boise won its home opener 7-6 over Eugene in Northwest League action Monday night at Memorial Stadium.

Boise (3-3) overcame four errors and 12 runners left on base to get the victory.

Left fielder Jonathan Piron hit his third home run of the season and was one of four Hawks players with two hits.

The two teams continue their series Wednesday night.
