Boise Hawks split doubleheader with Spokane Indians
Boise first baseman Bobby Wernes powered Boise to a 3-1 win in Game 1, but Spokane bounced back with a 10-0 win to split the Northwest League twin bill on Sunday.
Wernes had two hits, including a home run, and starter Breiling Eusebio struck out seven in five innings of work.
Boise’s Luis Guzman struggled in Game 2, giving up seven earned runs in the first inning of Game 2. The Boise offense also struggled, striking out 12 times in the seven inning game.
The two teams continue their series Monday.
