College of Idaho, Northwest Nazarene begin Mayors’ Cup series Tuesday
The oldest men’s basketball rivalry in the state continues with the 201st meeting between the College of Idaho and Northwest Nazarene.
Tipoff is 7 p.m. in Caldwell for the first of two games in the United Heritage Insurance Mayors’ Cup series.
According to the Coyotes, they lead the series — which began in 1933 — 118-77, excluding a 1-4 mark in exhibition games.
This is the eighth consecutive season the Canyon County schools will play a home-and-home series.
Tuesday’s game will be an exhibition for NCAA Division II NNU (2-1), but it will count for C of I (5-1), which is ranked No. 7 in the latest NAIA poll.
The second game of the series is Dec. 6 at NNU.
