Idaho Steelheads lose home exhibition in OT; season starts Friday

Mathieu Aubin scored on a power play 29 seconds into overtime, and the Utah Grizzlies defeated Idaho 2-1 on Tuesday at CenturyLink Arena to sweep a two-game ECHL hockey preseason series.

Joe Basaraba scored for the Steelheads, who lost 3-2 on Monday in Utah and outshot the Grizzlies 34-16 in the rematch. Landon Bow and Henri Kiviaho combined for 14 saves.

The teams open the regular season with four more meetings, starting with two at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday in West Valley City.
