Bogus Basin starts up some night skiing, readjusts pass holder rules
Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area announced night skiing operations will open ahead of the long weekend — nearly a month after the typical night skiing opening date in recent years, thanks to an unseasonably warm winter.
The Boise-area mountain said in a news release that night skiing, which keeps lifts open until 10 p.m., will begin Thursday, Jan. 15, and continue through Sunday, Jan. 18. Night skiing will continue on a Thursday through Saturday basis going forward until more snow accumulates.
Bogus Basin adjusted restrictions for various season pass holders in late December as a lack of snow and record warm temperatures limited snowmaking and operations.
The restrictions for value, twilight and night season passes will adjust as night skiing operations begin, according to the news release. Value pass holders will have access from open to close midweek and 2 p.m. to close on weekends. Twilight pass holders will have access from 2 p.m. to close daily, and night pass holders will have access from 3 p.m. to close daily.
Officials said normal pass restrictions will return when full-time night skiing operations begin.
This season’s night skiing begins about a month later than what is typical for Bogus Basin in the last several years.
