Pond-skimming event puts splashy cap on Bogus Basin’s ski season

Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area ended its ski season Sunday with a splash.

In the video above, watch highlights of the pond-skimming event — a traditional way for ski areas to mark the end of the season.

Bogus Basin finished the season with 123 open days, about 320,000 skier/snowboarder visits and almost 200 inches of snowfall.

Summer operations will run on weekends July 2-Sept. 5. The Deer Point lift will be open for mountain biking, hiking and sight-seeing. The cost is $25 per day (11 a.m.-4 p.m.), $10 for a single ride or $99 for the summer.
