Playing Outdoors: Check out photos from Stanley sled-dog race

The Stanley Sled Dog Rendezvous was last weekend — and predictably, the event that mixes fantastic Idaho scenery with hard-working dogs produced some striking images.

Stanley Mayor Herb Mumford shared the above photos from this year’s event. The captions indicate that one racer gave his dog a ride on the sled and another picked up a racer who got separated from his sled.

The 2017 event is scheduled for Feb. 25-26.
