Playing Outdoors: Snowstorms head toward ski areas
After a brief lull, ski resorts in the area are expecting another major snow dump over the next couple of days.
Sun Valley is under a winter storm warning from 5 p.m. Thursday to 11 a.m. Saturday. The heaviest snow is expected Friday evening with potential for as much as 16 inches in 36 hours at higher elevations.
Bogus Basin has snow in the forecast Friday-Saturday, with a 100 percent chance on Friday. Sunday is supposed to be partly sunny, which could make for a good day of skiing after all the fresh snow lands.
McCall has snow in the forecast Thursday-Saturday, with a 100 percent chance Thursday-Friday. That should be good news for Brundage Mountain and Tamarack Resort.
