Six hours of music, new summer activities highlight Bogus Basin’s July 1 celebration
Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area will offer six hours of music and eight hours of summer activities on July 1 for the summer kickoff event, part of the ski area’s 75th anniversary celebration.
New activities that are expected to be ready for the opening day include summer tubing, a climbing wall, a bungee trampoline, a gem-panning station, a bike skills park and a bike flow trail.
The mountain coaster and 12,000-square-foot plaza outside Simplot Lodge are slated to open later this summer.
“We are looking forward to being a year-round recreational area with the launch of these new activities,” General Manager Brad Wilson said in a press release. “We’ve specifically chosen attractions that will be fun and engaging for people of all ages and abilities.”
Bogus Basin will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on July 1, including scenic and bike chairlift rides on Deer Point Express. The musical acts will be DJ Lizzie from 1 to 4 p.m. and Pimps of Joytime from 4 to 7 p.m.
Bogus Basin will be open daily July 1-9. For the rest of the season, hours will be 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday-Sunday through Labor Day and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekends after Labor Day. The ski area also will be open Aug. 21 for the solar eclipse.
