“Outdoor Idaho” on Idaho Public Television returns with a new episode Thursday night (Nov. 17). The focus is on the Owyhee Desert, which includes some spectacular river canyons.
“It’s inaccessible, inhospitable and yet a wonderful and rejuvenating place,” Greg Stahl of Idaho Rivers United tells the show. “You have to be here to really understand the grandeur that exists in the Owyhee plateau.”
“Outdoor Idaho” crews floated Deep Creek, followed a group of packrafters on the East Fork of the Owyhee River and spent time canyoneering for this episode. The footage will display places rarely seen.
“The Canyonlands are a very special place. It’s worth some hardship. There’s no other place like it,” hiking guide Shane Moser said.
