Bull elk poached north of Council, Fish and Game seeks help
The elk was poached only for its antlers and left to waste. The headless body was found Sunday just above Ridge Road, north of Council. The Idaho Department of Fish and Game estimates the elk was killed Nov. 25 or 26, weeks after bull elk season closed in that area.
Fish and Game Tuesday asked for the public’s help to solve the poaching.
Anyone with information on what may have happened is asked to call Citizens Against Poaching, 800-632-5999. CAP is offering a reward in the case and callers can remain anonymous.
Or, you can call Fish and Game’s McCall office on weekdays, 208-634-8137, or Idaho State Police on weekends, 208-846-7550.
