Baumgartner Campground, east of Featherville, is a favorite for a lot of campers, and it’s busy all summer long. There’s a lot to do, including fishing, so head up there.
How to get there: Drive east on I-84 to the second Mountain Home exit. Go north on U.S. 20 for about 32 miles to the Pine/Featherville turnoff. It’s 18 miles to Pine. Continue to Featherville. The campground is 12 miles east of Featherville. GPS: 43 degrees 36.344 N; 115 degrees 04.586 W.
Activities: Hot pool, river swimming, strolling, trout fishing and bicycling.
Amenities: 30 camping units, drinking water, toilets, interpretive trail, developed hot pool, host and accessibility.
Nearest place to get supplies: Pine and Featherville.
