Leslie Gulch road closed

Recent rain caused significant damage to the road going into the recreation area in the BLM’s Vale District.

Wet conditions can make these roads unsafe, muddy and difficult to navigate. All vehicles have a serious risk of getting stuck in the mud or damaging the road further, according to the BLM. Vale District engineers are assessing the damage and working on repairs. For more information on the road’s status, follow the link on this story at IdahoStatesman.com.

The facilities will closed for the winter beginning Friday, Oct. 30. A portable restroom will remain open at the Nampa Dog Park. Portables will also be available at the main playgrounds at Lakeview Park and West Park.

Fish and Game releases trout stocking schedule

Personnel from Fish and Game's Nampa Hatchery will release more than 15,000 catchable-sized rainbow trout in area ponds and rivers in November. McDevitt Pond in Boise will not be stocked, however, because of weed treatment efforts. For a complete list of stocking sites, follow the link on this story at IdahoStatesman.com.

Waterfowl shooting times corrected

The waterfowl shooting times listed on pages 12 and 14 of Idaho Fish and Game’s Waterfowl Season and Rules brochure contain errors. Follow the link on this story at IdahoStatesman.com for more details.

Corrections include:

▪ Nov. 1 on page 12. The beginning and ending times statewide should be within a minute or two of times listed for Nov. 2.

▪ Nov. 4 on page 12. The ending times for counties in northern Idaho should read 4:29 p.m. PST; and the ending times for counties in western Idaho should read 5:33 p.m. MST.

▪ Feb. 29 shooting times are missing on page 14. The start and ending times statewide should be within a minute or two of times listed for March 1.
