Camping tip: Wash station

One of the most important things to set up in camp is a wash station. Sanitation is the key to enjoying the campout and avoiding passing on germs to fellow campers.

A simple water jug with a spigot can be filled with creek water and provides an easy way to wash hands. Soap and towels can be stored inside the jug when not in use.

Wash the jug out after every camping trip, and since you are using creek water, don't drink from it.

You can heat a little water over the camp stove to provide warm water for washing, which is welcomed in camp.

You can get a small jug for under $10 or less if you go to a second-hand outlet, like Idaho's Youth Ranch.
