Idaho lake boaters, take note: Tamarack Resort has begun to build a new marina for the public on Lake Cascade next to the ski resort. The resort says it will be ready for powerboats, catamarans, sailboats, kayaks and stand-up paddleboards by Memorial Day weekend in 2026.

The marina will include 100 boat slips for seasonal rental, expanded beaches with a dedicated swimming area, a sand volleyball court, and an on-the-water fueling station, the resort announced.

“As the newest lakefront amenity in Idaho, this full-service marina will be fully open to the public and represents a significant milestone in Tamarack’s long-term commitment to expanding year-round access to recreation across its mountain, meadow, and lake,” the resort said.

“Of all our assets, the mountain may be the most iconic, and the golf course may be the most refined, but the lake has always been the most elusive,” Tamarack President Scott Turlington said in a news release. “And now, finally, it is happening.”

The marina is going up in the Poison Creek Campground on the west side of Lake Cascade State Park, about 80 miles north of Boise in the West Mountains near Donnelly. It will offer motorized and nonmotorized boat rentals, including stand-up paddleboards or SUPs, kayaks, and Hobie-style catamarans, the resort said. Pricing and reservation details have not yet been announced.

The resort, which leases much of its land from the state, already offers boat rentals at The Waterfront at the campground under a separate agreement with the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation, The Star-News in McCall reported. Tamarack proposed the new arena in a 2021 written response to the department’s request for proposals for marinas on the reservoir.

Food at the new marina will be provided by a food truck serving boaters, resort guests and other visitors, The Star-News said.
