Tamarack Resort announces opening date plans, new policies and food options for winter
Tamarack Resort hopes to open for its winter season on Friday, Dec. 11, but patrons will notice some changes when they visit.
Like many other businesses, Tamarack will open with coronavirus-minded adjustments, such as a limited capacity in indoor spaces to comply with guidelines from Central District Health, which covers Valley County.
The resort has implicated policies for pass holders on rollover credits this season in the event a COVID-19-related shutdown cuts the winter recreation season short. Tamarack also said single-day ticket sales may be limited in order to create shorter lines and less crowded slopes, especially on busy weekends and holidays.
The resort is encouraging visitors to purchase season or day passes early and online. Every guest who has lodging booked through Tamerack for the 2020-21 season will be guaranteed access to lifts, according to the resort.
“Tamarack is focused on providing a safe, memorable experience for our guests,” said Scott Turlington, the resort’s president, in a news release. “That’s why we are taking extra precautions, such as offering touchless ticket- and pass-pickup boxes as well as noncontact, pay-as-you-go, direct-lift access.”
Aside from the coronavirus adjustments, the resort will also debut a new food hall in The Village at Tamarack, which includes areas for classic diner food, pizza, Mexican fare and healthier options. There will also be a new restaurant serving upscale Italian food set to open in the Village.
The food hall and restaurant will open on Friday, Dec. 11.
With the openings come a closure, according to the resort. Tamarack’s Seven Devil’s Pub and Canoe Grill will close ahead of the winter season, as the latter of the two will be converted into the primary space for rentals in order to allow for social distancing.
“Expanding the breadth of dining options ... has been one of our team’s top priorities from Day One,” said Turlington in the news release. “We are thrilled to offer our guests and homeowners a variety of casual and upscale options meeting any preference or dietary need.”
Tamarack isn’t the only area resort to recently announce coronavirus precautions and an opening date. Bogus Basin announced Tuesday it hopes to open on Nov. 27. The resort will have measures in place like limiting numbers of people allowed indoors in the hopes of cutting down the risk of spreading coronavirus.
