We welcome letters on topics of public relevance and debate. Please include an address and daytime telephone number for verification.

Letters: Limit your letter to 200 words; we accept no more than one letter per writer every 30 days. Letters endorsing candidates or initiatives will be limited during election periods. Preference is given to in-state writers. The Statesman does not print form letters, libelous letters, business promotions or complaints, poetry, open letters, letters proselytizing or espousing or attacking religious views without reference to a current issue, letters that are in poor taste or that are not on a topic of public interest.

Guest Opinions: We have to reject more submissions than we can publish, so please consider writing a letter. Guest opinions are selected to explore topics of broad interest, and priority is given to Idaho authors who have unique knowledge or expertise on a subject and to rebuttals of recent Statesman editorials. Generally, guest opinions are limited to 660 words.
