I would personally like to thank all the World War II veterans and their families who braved the smoke to attend a very special ceremony, “The Spirit of 45,” in honor of World War II veterans and spouses, and the service they provided to keep this nation free. In particular those spouses who went to work in factories to make certain all the things we needed for the war were being produced. We even had a “Rosie the Riveter” who worked at Boeing and she shared her story at the ceremony. It’s our goal to keep this program going year after year and honor those that are our Greatest Generation.
We are so blessed to have had the opportunity to be a part of the program. We hope the grandchildren will get involved with pictures of their grandparents so those can be shown at the different venues. Let us never forget the great sacrifices they made to keep this nation free.
