O’Connor letter: Fireworks law

I just read your July 2 articles about the fire at Table Rock. This event is a repeat of June 29, 2015, when a no-thinking, careless juvenile set off a bottle rocket close to our Mesa Vista home. We have recovered but our neighbors are just now able to be back in their home (from one year ago). Yes, it is time for legislation to approve no fireworks (or very limited), illegal or otherwise, in city limits where our extremely dry conditions make for great fire-starters. Good luck finding and prosecuting the person who started the Table Rock fire. Our fire-starter was identified, but because his family “had no insurance” to pay for the damages, no consequences were placed on the young man. So I can only imagine that he learned absolutely nothing from his stupidity. Legislation is definitely in order.
