de la Motte letter: Boise River
So someone decided that Ann Morrison Park needs a facelift (Statesman, June 4). Well, excuse me, but someone at Boise Parks & Recreation needs an eye exam.
The eyesore and obstruction at Boise’s largest park has existed since 1972, when the dream of a Boise River Greenbelt began to materialize. So now is finally the time to breach the Settlers Canal diversion dam.
Free the Boise River for the ultimate float trip through the city. Remove the blight that the ugly and dangerous anachronistic obstruction imposes on the river’s navigation and beauty.
So you wanna give Ann Morrison Park a new look? Let the Boise River run free.
Wayne de la Motte, South Fork, Boise River
