Anderson letter: Thank you

I would like to sincerely thank J.D. Poss and all of those other individuals who made the Vietnam memorial dedication possible on Memorial Day. It was very moving for all who served in Vietnam and for those who lost loved ones. The memorial is a beautiful symbol representing 217 individuals whom we lost in a very contentious war. The war changed many of us. Our soldiers were not respected when they came back from a conflict that many of them were drafted into. This dedication was important because it finally gave these men and women and their families the gratitude and respect that they deserved. People can hate war, but remember the soldiers are the ones who bear the hard work and sacrifice. Seeing my brother’s name on the memorial brought back the day he died and my gratitude that he and others would be remembered for their service.
