Samson letter: Ron Crane

Congrats Idaho Statesman for keeping the public informed of the continued controversy behind Ron Crane, our trusty state treasurer. I ask why Idahoans do not ask for his resignation or recall?

He is responsible to serve Idahoans as our financial officer, investor and manager of 2.7 billion Idaho taxpayer dollars. However, in 2014 legislative auditors reported that Crane’s office inappropriately transferred investments that cost the Idaho taxpayers a $20 million. He also seems to think we the taxpayers should pay for his limousine in New York and his gas bills to and from work. What?

Now he is allegedly firing within his department whistleblowers who are allegedly exposing him and his “waste of government funds.” It is time that Ron Crane be removed from office or do us a favor and resign. Idahoans, we need to demand more from our representatives. They work for us.
