Schmidt letter: Race for the Cure
My sister, Wendy Stone (who has come from Wisconsin the past six years), and I want to thank the many volunteers at the Boise Race for the Cure! They spend countless hours preparing for this yearly event and are so very friendly and gracious to everyone — but especially the survivors, which include myself and my sister. There are additional people who come out in large numbers to cheer for us as we progress through the walk. We were in a group that was at the very end of the walk yesterday and they cheered for us just as enthusiastically as though we’d been one of the first to cross the finish line. They make us feel so special, for which we are grateful.
