Sekovski letter: Need successful slogan

Compare these two: Don’t Fail Idaho. Succeed Idaho!

My impression is that the first slogan is a campaign for Idaho to fail. Whom that benefits I can’t say. But I can say this, it is the worst ad campaign ever, if that is not its intention.

Coke would never say, “Don’t buy Pepsi.” To succeed one needs a goal to move toward, not away from. And this destructive ad is pounded into our heads through a variety of media, for years now. It needs to stop. I have asked them, on their website, to reconsider this slogan but never received a response.
